"Examining the evidence helped me decide which Defense was right for my case."

How I Picked a Defensive Strategy
  1. I looked over the Discovery provided by the State for any errors.

  2. I double checked all dates, signatures, timelines, etc.

  3. I looked over my own supporting evidence as well.

Only then could I decide what direction to take my case.

I've NEVER seen these Defenses work in NJ:

"I was keeping up with the FLOW OF TRAFFIC."

"I was only GOING A FEW MILES OVER the Speed Limit."

"The cop was hiding. That's a SPEED TRAP!"

"My SPEEDOMETER WAS BROKEN."

"My name is misspelled and that's my old address... the TICKET IS FILLED OUT WRONG."

I've seen these Defenses work SOMETIMES:

"I was forced to speed due to an IMMINENT THREAT or EMERGENCY."

"It wasn't me, this is a case of MISTAKEN IDENTITY!"

"I hope the POLICE OFFICER DOESN'T SHOW UP to Court."

I've seen these Defenses work WELL when used properly:

"There's SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRAFFIC SIGNS."

"The Officer had an OBSTRUCTED VIEW of my vehicle."

"The Officer DID NOT FOLLOW OFFICIAL PROCEDURES."

"The Prosecution's case was INCOMPLETE or INCONSISTENT."
